Do You Have the Skills to Be A Work-At-Home Mom?

Posted By: Staff Editor In: Business Professional
Where can I find advice for work from home Moms? Check out PhillyJobs.com!
There are plenty of Philadelphia jobs for work at home moms. Home-based careers include freelance writing and editing, medical transcription, coding, and even customer service hotline positions. If you're trying to choose a work at home job, start by evaluating your strongest skills. Are you good with people? Do you enjoy problem solving and helping people sort through technical issues? A work at home job in customer support could be for you.
If you did phone support in a previous job, consider using those skills in a work at home job. If your skills are more detail-oriented, a medical or legal transcription job may be perfect, especially for those who only want part-time hours. In many transcription and coding positions you can be very specific about the amount of work you take on each day or week—you can adjust your workload to fit a busy parenting schedule. The most important thing to do when considering your work at home skills is to start by using your existing knowledge base--how can you apply it to get a home-based career?
