Beyond.com is seeking a Database Developer with both production support and business requirements planning skills. In addition to maintaining the integrity of our data base systems, you will engage in understanding the business model, define system requirements, and convert information into a technical specifications.
Responsibilities:
Design and development of stored procedures
Design and maintenance of DTS / SSIS packages
Development of new features, applications, and reporting solutions
Assist in maintaining and improving database operational efficiency
Assist in client support and trouble shooting
Performance tuning of indexes and stored procedures
Work with business units gathering system specifications and design technical processes
Requirements:
Skills Required:
Fundamental knowledge of SQL Server architecture, relational database concepts and SQL
A solid understanding of physical data modeling, database design principals, programming, and a system development lifecycle
Experience with TSQL and Stored Procedure development and troubleshooting
Experience with MS SQL Server 2000 and 2005 tools, including use of Query Analyzer, stored procedures, DTS, SSIS, Jobs and Profiler
Understanding of XML helpful
Ability to plan, organize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong communication skills required; ability to interact with multiple levels of personnel within the organization and externally.
Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision
Minimum of 3 years experience performing database development functions as described above.
