Balancing work and life isn’t easy. But here are some easy ways to help you find that balance.
Balancing work and life isn’t easy for some—especially if you’re involved in a highly technical job that requires continuing education or time-consuming certifications. To avoid job burnout, find ways to juggle your upgrade training or additional certifications and your job responsibilities. It helps to think of your continuing education as a second job—you can find perspective on balancing work and life much faster by interpreting the education aspect in that way. Once you recognize training as your second vocation, you can apply tried-and-true techniques to both jobs and avoid job burnout.
Try keeping your studies and your job on the same schedule with at least one day off per week from both. Another way to do this is to work your studying into the job schedule--do your reading and research just before work, on breaks or over your lunch hour. Reduce the off-duty time you spend with the certification or lesson plans; your life will become much more balanced. You shouldn’t neglect your studies, but good time management is the key to getting more personal free time.
