Harleysville has an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager to join our new Business Relationship Management team in the IT department which is located at our Home Office in Harleysville PA. We are good people to know!

This position may be filled at the pay grade 18 or 19 level.

The incumbents in this role will work in the Business Relationship Management team which was created for the following reasons:
1. Provide a business facing role that enables IT partnerships with various business units.
2. Define opportunities for technology solutions that enhance the business platform and processes
3. Own and operate the project intake process for IT
4. Maintain the business project portfolio in order to obtain consistent visibility into the status of projects
5. Review requests to ensure the scope and impacts are defined across the enterprise
6. Ensure high-level requirements and defined conceptual solutions will facilitate the formulation of an accurate cost/benefit estimate
7. Provide oversight during the delivery process to ensure that the detailed business requirements remain in line with the expectations of the business requests

The individual in this role will be responsible for maintaining the business project portfolio as it relates to our Business Relationship Management group. Will also be responsible for assisting in the development of strategic corporate recommendations and solutions as well as serving as liaison between IT and business clients.

The following are essential duties for this role which include but are not limited to:
1. Evaluate projects for technical feasibility and risk assessment including: initiation, definition and selection of technical platform; estimate project cost, feasibility and time; and work with IT owners and business clients to determine best approach
2. Perform project management functions of system development and implementation activities ensuring appropriateness, applicability and quality of each aspect of the project including: project planning and scheduling; resource acquisition and assignment; manage problem and issue resolution; create work breakdown structure - task plans; provide timely delivery that is within budgeted plans; and follow established standards developed by the Project Office
3. May direct and manage a project team with responsibility for planning, organizing, and controlling the team's activities Define end-to-end project scope, identify impacted systems, document business benefits, and facilitate estimate of project costs
4. Identify and recommend business process improvement opportunities
5. Collaborate with architecture and data teams to develop designs based on documented requirements
6. Act as liaison between the business units and IT to define objectives, requirements, and priorities for project requests
7. Conduct project presentations as required and attend client, technical, and committee meetings


Qualifications Education/Credentials:
Bachelor degree in Computer/Information Science or a related discipline or equivalent. PMP Certification is highly preferred. INS, AIT or CPCU course work is a plus.


Experience:
Seven or more years of application programming development and systems analysis experience as a project team member of which at least three years have been in a project management position.
