Title: Business Analyst
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Type: 9-month contract
Primary Role
The Business Analyst must have experience in multiple and diverse environments and applications. Will be required to gather, define and establish business requirements, document business cases and perform requirements management for new and existing applications solutions. Will act as the liaison between business users and IT projects during requirements gathering/analysis, process re-engineering, software configuration, testing, and implementation. Additionally, this resource will be required to perform the role of PM when the PM is absent, assisting with the leadership of the project. Must be experienced and have strong knowledge of common industry business requirements management software tools, Visio and MS Project.
Key Accountabilities
- Performs JAD sessions and requirement elicitation, gathers and documents system requirements from users for software selection and development projects.
- Assist Project Manager and work with stakeholders on process improvement projects designed to improve results.
- Analyzes and documents business processes relevant to systems projects and improves these processes where appropriate
- Must Understand the value of process-centric approach to business analysis
- Develops a good working relationship with end user organizations and act as the end users representative on technology issues.
- Develops business process scripts, use cases, etc. used for configuring software to meet the needs of the user community.
- Develops and executes software testing scripts.
- Provides implementation and roll-out support to users.
- Will create current “as-is” and future “to-be” state documentation
- Executes change management tasks in systems projects including, but not limited to, communication to key user communities, providing subject matter expertise, providing training and documentation where appropriate
Knowledge
- Awareness of common industry business requirements management tools, Microsoft Office products, e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, data base, project planning.
- Knowledge of Visio and MS Project
- Strong knowledge of SDLC and PMO methodologies.
- Must understand technical problems and solutions in relation to current and future business environments.
- Knowledge of projects that have enterprise-wide impact and require subject matter expertise of process improvement areas and process improvement tools.
- Knowledge of the collection and formal documentation of requirements management for technology projects.
- Healthcare and/or Insurance experience
