JOB SUMMARY:
Manages onsite implementation of company plans, programs and procedures that promote the maintenance of safe, healthy working conditions including health and safety plans, industrial hygiene, medical administration, security, and fire prevention and protection in accordance with applicable regulations and USENV policies, procedures and practices.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversees onsite compliance programs to train managers and employees in work-site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques of chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials. • Reviews studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies. • Oversees the inspection of assigned facility to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented. • Investigates accidents and injuries and cooperates with corporate safety in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations. • Represents the company in community or industry safety groups and programs at assigned facility. • Manages the participation in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. • Verifies compliance with health and safety regulations and ensures all necessary onsite records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines. • Monitors the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards, and training of employees on safety policies, procedures, and regulations. • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS: • Undergraduate degree in Safety, Industrial health, Science or Engineering, Business or Organizational Behavior preferred or equivalent experience. • Relevant Health & Safety professional certifications
DEMONSTRATED JOB - RELATED EXPERIENCE: • 2 or more years of experience in the field or in a related area.
DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Technical knowledge of workplace health, safety and environment concepts, practices, and procedures. • Change management skills to develop plans, communicate changes, build commitment, overcome resistance and monitor results. • Comprehensive working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations and all other applicable federal, state, local and industry regulations with the ability to interpret based on experience or precedent • Solid technical writing, verbal communication and presentation skills • Analytical abilities to determine root causes and recommend and implement solutions • Ability to constructively manage difficult or emotional customer situations; • Ability to communicate with all levels of management • Ability to present to a wide variety of audiences • Detail oriented • Compliance record keeping • Ability to work independently with little supervision • Ability to build positive relationships and resolve conflicts • Good computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
