Job Summary 

The Human Resources (HR) Specialist provides support and tactical implementation in the areas of Organizational Training, Performance Management, Health and Safety, Compensation and Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Labor Relations, and Workforce Planning. This position provides valued solutions to management for the implementation of HR initiatives.

A major responsibility of this position is to manage workforce planning, recruiting and hiring. Duties include managing candidate sourcing to ensure requisition needs are promptly filled with quality candidates, and interviewing candidates. The HR specialist also evaluates recruiting and interviewing processes to determine success rates and make process improvements, and monitors employment procedures to ensure legal and governmental compliance. This position develops recruiting relationships with colleges, universities, and other organizations and groups to aid in sourcing quality candidates. The HR Specialist is also responsible for running queries and reports and providing HR administration and support. He/she works with various functions and departments to process information requests, collect information, and create and distribute reports. 

Other Duties  

  • Provide coaching on routine issues related to policy and procedures
  • Assist in providing business solutions through effective and quality sourcing of human capital resources
  • Develop consultative and tactical partnerships within the organization
  • Provide support to management in areas related to employee concerns, problem resolution and HR tools and systems
  • Work with HR and business management in implementing recognition programs that promote corporate values and enhance employee retention
  • Collaborate with Benefits and Compensation to implement the merit increase process and support the focus on employee performance
  • Share feedback on the effectiveness of HR processes to support process improvement 

Preferred Competencies 

  • Applies benefits, compensation, retirement and healthcare knowledge in working with HR programs, processes and issues
  • Applies labor and employment law knowledge to business decisions
  • Applies legal, regulatory and safety compliance knowledge to reduce company risk
  • Applies an understanding of policies and procedures to situations and operations in a business area
  • Applies supply chain and logistics knowledge of the flow of materials, information, and finances involved in manufacturing and distributing products
  • Applies knowledge of technology industry, trends and best practices to resolve problems, make decisions and achieve business objectives
  • Applies workforce planning knowledge to evaluate labor markets and devise strategies to attract talent
  • Synthesizes, combines and integrates information and data to form conclusions and make sound decisions and recommendations
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Authorized to Work in the U.S.
