This position will join a team responsible for supporting manufacturing and helping establish new processes with a primary focus on mechanical engineering and strong ability to handle the electrical aspects of manufacturing solutions. Along with a proven ability to work in a lean manufacturing environment, skills in designing process equipment, and the drive to continuously improve, the successful candidate will have:
BSME, BSMET, BSEET or equivalent (transcripts required)
7-10 years experience in a medium to large quality driven manufacturing environment, ISO preferred
Experience designing and specifying electro-mechanical devices
Ability to conceptualize and design machines, tooling, fixtures
Proficiency in use of CAD to provide engineering drawings of assemblies and machine components, SolidWorks preferred
Understanding of mechanical tolerances and materials with reference to machine design
Ability to use programmable logic controllers (PLC) to control pneumatics, hydraulics and other electro-mechanical devices
Skill to correctly read and understand electrical wiring diagrams, electronic schematics, engineering diagrams isometrics and P&ID drawings.
Working knowledge of industrial utilities: electricity, AC and DC electrical circuits, switchgear, compressed air, process gases, steam, process water
Experience working with controls, instrumentation, automation, and PLC (Allen Bradley preferred) programming helpful
Proven track record resolving unique material handling challenges very helpful
Able to work with vendors, manufacturing personnel and the engineering group as a collaborative team member
High level of integrity while balancing multiple priorities and responsibilities
Self-motivated and persistent to ensure completion of projects
Aptitude to receive and provide input about improvements to machine designs
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing practices and principles, Six Sigma (greenbelt or blackbelt) certification, and/or Lean Manufacturing methods
Knowledge of Environmental and Safety regulations helpful
10% travel
