Primary Role
This Project Manager resource should have extensive experience in multiple and diverse environments and applications including knowledge and experience in all major functions, issues and considerations of the subject matter. Responsible for the scoping, planning, and execution of a portfolio of IT projects utilizing standardized company Project Management Methodology. Responsibilities and processes include scope, cost, schedule, issues, risks, resource management, and status reporting. Successfully manages the day-to-day activities of projects through the project life cycle from initiation to closure including cross functional efforts such as requirements gathering, system analysis/design, development/configuration, testing and implementation phases. Assumes ownership of the project deliverables and results. Acts as primary liaison between the business and the various ITS teams and security. Capable of managing a diverse and complex suite of projects simultaneously.
Key Accountabilities:
Develop master project plans and drives; optimize and manage all plans while presenting alternate scenarios to continuously reduce overall critical path. Optionally, levels resources to determine impacts across plans and manages multiple master plans.
Assists in the development of complex projects' budgets, utilizing appropriate analysis approaches across multiple projects, manages resource plan to budget and reports "planned vs. actual" budget variances. Optionally, reconciles multi-project budget reports across department budgets, manages multi-project resource plans, proposes optimal budgeting strategies within policy to best meet the business needs and reports impacts to capital and expense budget categories.
Employs QA best practices, defines/collects/interprets QA metrics and diagrams and clearly defines link between requirements and technology solution. Additionally, offers quality standards and recommends quality improvements.
Facilitates status reviews with all stakeholders updating project status and clarifying roles and responsibilities developing accurate, detailed consolidated reports to continuously manage expectations. Creates multi-project communications plans/reporting methods.
Develops resource plans that align unique project needs with team members' skillsets/career interests and applies various techniques to build/maintain a unified team view/focus on project objectives. Optionally, recognized as a leader of cross-functional and/or co-located teams successfully managing conflict to realize peak team performance while mentoring project leads in PM best practices.
Must possess established record of applying PM best practices, tools, techniques and methods that have resulted in several projects being executed successfully to plan by balancing scope/time/budget targets supported by accurate progress reporting to all stakeholders.
Experience managing multiple high risk/high visibility mission critical/strategic cross-functional global projects as a recognized expert in PM methodologies.
Experience developing risk mitigation and contingency plans. Has led risk identification processes to develop project specific mitigations and contingencies and updates risk plans as conditions warrant and considers risk during the change management process.
Ability to manage change control and refines scope statement appropriately, understanding the impact of scope statement changes and clearly articulates requirements (both "in scope" and "out of scope") to manage expectations.
Accurately develop a WBS to the proper level of detail.
Ability to develop scope management plans and WBS for cross functional remotely located multi-projects, mentors PMs on WBS creation with traceability to scope management plan, discusses scope change alternatives and timing/impact with stakeholders and optimizes the process to integrate scope changes.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 7 to 10 years overall experience as a Project Manager; including a successful track record in managing software development related projects.
PMP certification is preferred.
Healthcare insurance industry experience is required (i.e. Claims Processing, Claims Payment, Network Provider, Eligibility, ICD 9/10, HIPAA 5010, Medical Management, and/or New Account Activation).
Ability to build and manage a team of people in order to effectively manage a project and ensure its' success.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a cross-functional capacity.
Experience managing multiple projects concurrently; and ability to deliver all projects successfully and within budget.
Ability to interact with all levels of personnel from technical to high level executive management, and influence key stakeholders in order to get things done.
Strong leadership, assertiveness and interpersonal skills.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Self-starter, assertive, enthusiastic and has the political savvy to get things done, yet maintain a personable presence.
Bachelor's degree is required.
