Responsibilities Include but are not limited to: - This candidate is responsible for the design and implementation of scientific applications supporting drug discovery efforts. - This candidate will work with Our client's expertise platforms as well as with cross-functional therapeutic project teams to translate requirements into useful software. - This individual should have a strong understanding of the drug discovery process and have proven record of building effective tools for scientists. - Commit code to our existing systems and contribute technically to new projects in our dynamic global IT environment. - Manage internal and external project team beta testing cycles of new tools and applications. - Provide expert technical support to internal team members and scientists. - Interface with internal IT teams and with key business owners to define project requirements, scope, and resource allocations. - This candidate has the ability to work comfortably in multiple programming languages with an orientation toward implementation of Web and .NET applications. Qualifications: - Education - B.S. in Computer Science, Biology or Bioinformatics - A background developing applications having Oracle as the primary data store, an understanding of computer systems architecture, data integration concepts, deployment and support of applications in a pharmaceutical/biotech environment is preferred. - Excellent scripting and programming skills. - Strong background and interest in application development, infrastructure design and architecture, and technical change management. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and proven ability to work effectively across multiple teams in an international environment. - Understanding of software integrations required to support in-lab process technologies and industrial scale automation systems in a pharmaceutical research environment is preferred. - Demonstrated ability to operate independently and as part of a team - Extensive knowledge of web architecture and technologies, including IIS, Apache and .NET - Strong knowledge of Oracle and PL/SQL.
