Job Description

SUMMARY:
Territory Supervisor oversees a team of Field employees that include Tower Technicians and Field Operations Technicians that monitor, maintain and service our towers and site locations. A key responsibility is the daily training, mentoring, and coaching to their staff, and providing ongoing feedback and evaluation. The incumbent routinely monitors the quality of work and ensures training is provided to appropriate team members. The Territory Supervisor works closely with superiors and counterparts in Sales, Collocation, Rooftop, Broadcast, DAS, New Tower Development, and other functional units as required to maximize customer utilization and profitability of American Tower assets. A critical area of focus is to ensure that regulatory compliance, safety, quality, and configuration integrity is constantly maintained at all of American Tower sites and that our people are in compliance with those regulations and safety procedures. Territory Supervisors are responsible for motoring and tracking projects, budgets, resources and equipment. This position requires rigorous monitoring and juggling of priorities and continuously feeds information and directs work accordingly to their direct reports, peers and other groups that they partner with.

Job Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
* Maintain a thorough knowledge of new developments and telecommunications technology such as DAAS.
* Manage overall work load requiring daily delegation of work and work assignments. Rigorous planning required to ensure priorities are clear and work allocated accordingly.
* Monitor projects and recommend changes to improve operating efficiency and processes
* Plan and manage the implementation of special projects
* Manage project scope determination
* Manage budgets and expenses for repairs and maintenance
* Effectively manage all maintenance tickets for assigned geographic area to ensure proper resolution in accordance with company standards, policies and procedures, federal, state and local rules and regulations or customer expectation
* Coordinate the activities of cross functional groups to complete major projects that typically involve developing project activity schedules, establishing communications hierarchy, monitoring progress, serving as a single point of contact for problem resolution
* Provide technical support and training to subordinates, peers, and other work groups
* May perform the work of subordinates in emergency situations
* Assists Regional Operations Manager in managing both in-house and outsourced resources by supervisingField Operations Technician and Tower Technician, overseeing the use of third party services for labor, materials and equipment.
* Ensures that the team maintains continuous regulatory and contractual compliance for all American Tower assets within assigned territory.
* Ensures that all reporting and documentation is current, including OASIS input, centralized files, closeout documentation, regulatory compliance documentation and other information required to effectively track, review and maintain our information in up to date.
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Proactively identify and resolve personnel issues in conjunction with Human Resources
* Recruit, develop and retain staff, partnering with Operations leadership, recruiting and human resources. This includes on-boarding and orientation for new hires
* Provide disciplined performance management for team. Define and communicate annual goals, perform formal and informal performance reviews, and ensure changes and updates are communicated in a timely and professional manner.
* Create strong collaborative team environment that establishes a high morale
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Thorough knowledge of construction techniques, technologies and processes
* Ability to work with functional groups and different level of employees throughout the American Tower organization to effectively and professionally achieve business results
* Financial knowledge to make spending decisions
* Strong knowledge of the network topology, network principles, and telecommunications industry. Specifically
* Good understanding of core business processes, Company standards and guidelines and project management processes
* Demonstrated ability to effectively manage remote employees and work groups and lead multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
* Disciplined management and coaching skills able to create high productive teams with strong morale
* Effective verbal and written communication skills
* Strong customer services skills
* Self-starter, team player, results-oriented
* Basic knowledge of OSHA requirements within the Construction industry
* Basic knowledge of FAA/FCC regulations, and environmental requirements
* Demonstrated computer proficiency
* Valid driver's license
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* Professional Degree in Construction Science, Business, Civil Engineering, Property Management or equivalent experience
* 10 years construction experience preferred 
* 3+ years experience in related fields such as site/property management, collocation, operations, site acquisition/development, project management, carrier operations, plus 1-2 years supervisory experience
ENVIRONMENT:
Approximately 50 % performed in an office or home office environment. Approximately 50 % travel will be required in support of the position's responsibilities.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds. This position requires the ability to walk unassisted on undeveloped land.
